Welcome to Newman Hall!
We are very pleased to make your acquaintance and pray that you will find everything here at the Newman to your liking. We want you to feel that the Newman Hall is your home away from home. Feel free to come to the building anytime during working hours and other times as necessary by appointment or prior notice. If you have any suggestions or recommendations that you feel will help the center be more accommodating, please let us know. You can reach us at the Newman in person during working hours, by phone, email, or fax. My personal cell phone number is (713) 594-4816. Call me any time after hours or when there is an emergency.
As a member of the TSU Newman Hall Catholic Student Center, you automatically become a member of the Archdiocesan Young Adults and Campus Ministry, Catholic Association for Students in Professional Programs, (CASPP) which is the graduate organization under the umbrella of the Catholic Tigers for Christ (CTC). Please be sure to attend our Catholic Student Organization (CSO) meeting on the second and fourth Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. at the TSU Newman Hall - Catholic Student Center.
Because you are a member of this prestigious student organization, you have gained access to many privileges, both spiritual and otherwise. Fr. Dan is available to offer you spiritual direction and counseling by appointment. Reconciliation is offered during Advent and Lent as well as by appointment. Bayou Awakening, an Archdiocesan Retreat, is offered each semester for young adults between the ages of 18-25. Each semester we try to participate in one social justice program. So check with us frequently by phone or by email pr on this website to find out what we will be doing next. We currently have Mass each Wednesday at noon. It is very woderful to share Mass with peers and faculty. As our membership grows, we will begin having regular daily Mass, Adoration, and weekly bible study.
Other privileges we offer include reduced photocopying, free faxes, free notary, and free parking. Our center is conducive to learning as we offer a quiet but friendly welcoming environment with computers, wireless internet, kitchens, conference room, library, fellowship room, chapel, and a quiet study area! The advantages are limitless!! Again, on behalf of the TSU Newman Hall staff and the officers of CTC and the entire CSO membership, we give you a hearty, genuine, and loving welcome!
